About Us

Our Story

Neptune
Beach attorney W. Alan Winter worked 17 years at law firms in downtown Jacksonville before he decided to realize his professional and personal dream of establishing a top-notch, full-service legal office on the beaches side of town.

“I live in Atlantic Beach, and my daily commute to and from downtown Jacksonville left me with very little job satisfaction,” said Mr. Winter. “So in 1992 I downsized and formed The Winter Law Firm and in 1999 moved the office to Neptune Beach.”

“Beaches residents deserve a full-service law firm so they can take care of legal business in their own community,” says Mr. Winter, a 1983 graduate of the University of Florida law school, personally handles all cases and provide one-on-one consultations tailored to clients’ needs.

The Winter Law Firm has firmly established its roots in Neptune Beach, just as the stately and majestic magnolia tree on the law firm’s property has established its roots. The magnolia is impressive and the Winter Law Firm is making every effort to keep all of the trees at the office. “It seems that we’re the only business on Third Street that has kept our trees, and we’ve decided not to expand our building because we want to preserve the green cover at the Beaches,” he adds.

Unlike many Beaches law offices, the Neptune Beach firm owns its own building and property. “This is our primary and only office location,” says Mr. Winter. “Many other firms at the Beaches only handle intake at their beach location. They gather the information from their Beaches clients, but the work or case is actually handled at the firm’s downtown or main office.” All client files are kept in the Winter Law Firm office, and clients can access their information anytime in a hassle-free, convenient environment that matches the professionalism and experience of any large-scale law firm.

Areas of Practice
